Filler Dissolving Treatment
Safe Correction of Unwanted or Migrated Dermal Filler
If you're experiencing issues with previous dermal fillers — whether due to overfilling, migration, lumps, or simply a change in aesthetic goals — filler dissolving offers a safe, medically regulated solution. At Ultra Aesthetics, we provide professional filler correction using clinically approved products to restore natural contours and allow for refined results.
What Is Filler Dissolving?
Filler dissolving is a procedure that uses an injectable enzyme called hyaluronidase (also known as Hyalase® in the UK) to break down and dissolve hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. Once injected into the treated area, hyaluronidase works by accelerating the natural degradation process of the filler, which is then absorbed and eliminated by the body.
When Is Filler Dissolving Recommended?
Clients may choose to dissolve filler for the following reasons:
-
Overfilling or unnatural results
-
Filler migration, especially around the lips or tear troughs
-
Lumps or uneven texture
-
Complications such as vascular occlusion (emergency dissolving)
-
Poor placement by another provider
-
Desire to start fresh with new filler
-
Ageing changes affecting the original results
Common Areas for Filler Dissolving
-
Lips – to correct migration or overfilling
-
Under-eyes (tear troughs) – to reduce puffiness, swelling, or blue tinge (Tyndall effect)
-
Nasal area – to reverse poor non-surgical rhinoplasty outcomes
-
Cheeks, chin & jawline – to refine or correct asymmetry
-
Any area with lumps, nodules or adverse reactions
Products We Use
At Ultra Aesthetics, we use only medically licensed Hyalase®, the most widely used hyaluronidase product in the UK. This product is prescription-only (POM) and can only be administered by trained medical professionals after a full consultation and medical assessment.
Important Information About Filler Dissolving
-
Patch testing is carried out prior to treatment to assess for allergic reaction (as hyaluronidase is a protein-based enzyme).
-
Results are typically seen within 24–72 hours.
-
Treated areas may appear temporarily flatter or deflated until any re-treatment or re-filling is performed after a suitable waiting period (usually 2–4 weeks).
-
Only hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers can be dissolved. Permanent or silicone-based fillers cannot be reversed with hyaluronidase.
Common HA Filler Brands That Can Be Dissolved
We are able to dissolve the following UK-approved hyaluronic acid-based filler brands, including but not limited to:
-
Juvederm® (e.g. Juvederm Ultra, Volbella, Volift, Voluma)
-
Restylane®
-
Belotero®
-
Teosyal®
-
Revolax®
-
Saypha®
-
Stylage®
If you’re unsure what product was originally used, we can often still proceed after a full consultation and patch test, provided the filler is HA-based.
