Skin Tag Removal

Safe, Effective, and Quick Removal of Unwanted Skin Tags

Skin tags are common, harmless skin growths that can be both cosmetically bothersome and physically irritating. At Ultra Aesthetics, we offer safe, professional skin tag removal treatments using clinically approved methods carried out by trained practitioners in a sterile environment.

What Are Skin Tags?

Skin tags (also known as acrochordons) are small, soft, flesh-coloured growths that hang off the skin. They are made up of collagen and blood vessels and are most commonly found on:

  • Neck

  • Underarms

  • Eyelids

  • Groin area

  • Under the breasts

  • Around the collar line

While skin tags are benign (non-cancerous), they can become irritated by clothing, jewellery, or shaving — prompting many people to seek removal for comfort and aesthetic reasons.

Common Reasons for Skin Tag Removal
  • Irritation from clothing or shaving

  • Discomfort or itching

  • Bleeding or catching on jewellery

  • Cosmetic concerns

  • Rapid growth or change in appearance (should be assessed first)

Treatment Methods

At Ultra Aesthetics, we use the most appropriate method depending on the size, location, and number of skin tags:

  1. Cryotherapy (Freezing)

    • Involves applying liquid nitrogen to freeze the skin tag, which then falls off within 7–10 days.

    • Suitable for small to medium-sized tags.

  2. Thermocoagulation / Electrocautery

    • Uses a fine-tipped probe to apply controlled heat, cauterising and removing the skin tag quickly.

    • Ideal for more delicate areas such as the eyelids or underarms.

All procedures are carried out in a clinical, sterile setting, and local anaesthetic may be used if needed for comfort.

Is It Safe?

Yes – skin tag removal is a routine, low-risk procedure when carried out by trained professionals. At Ultra Aesthetics, all treatments are performed in accordance with UK guidelines for minor skin procedures, with full hygiene and safety protocols in place.

Please note: Skin tag removal is considered a cosmetic procedure and is not available on the NHS unless the lesion poses a significant medical concern.

Pre-Treatment Assessment

A consultation is required prior to treatment to:

  • Confirm that the lesion is a benign skin tag

  • Rule out other skin conditions (e.g. moles, warts, or keratoses)

  • Discuss the best treatment method for your needs

If there is any uncertainty, we may recommend GP or dermatologist referral before proceeding.

Aftercare Advice
  • Keep the area clean and dry

  • Avoid picking or rubbing the site

  • Do not apply perfumed products or makeup until fully healed

  • Use SPF on exposed areas once healed to prevent pigmentation

  • Any small scab should fall off naturally within 7–10 days
